This degree has been designed for ministers, missionaries, and others serving in specialized ministries.

 

Traditional seminary degrees are often out of reach due to work, family, geography or finances.

Our degree is offered entirely online featuring video-based micro-lectures, ZOOM video-conferencing, and tutorial formats.

Doctor of Specialized Ministry:
Christian Pilgrimage

Faculty-Mentor Directed

The Faculty Mentor facilitates scheduled video conversations and participates in the portfolio preparation and examination.

Project Portfolio

Students journey through a series of research milestones to generate the final Project Portfolio that addresses a Need or Opportunity in their ministry context.

Online and Flexible

Students set their own schedule and proceed at their own pace. Each course can be completed within 30 to 90 days.

This course provides an introduction to Christian Pilgrimage

Tutorial II   – 3 credit hours with an assigned Faculty Mentor
This course explores the history of Christian Pilgrimage

Tutorial III  – 3 credit hours with an assigned Faculty Mentor
This course explores the Biblical implications of Pilgrimage

Tutorial IV  – 3 credit hours with an assigned Faculty Mentor
This course explores the Spiritual Formation implications of Pilgrimage

 

 

Project Portfolio - 24 Credit Hours:

Portfolio Methods - 6 credit hours with an assigned Faculty Mentor This research course provides a foundation for the Portfolio experience

 

Portfolio Research I Course – 6 credit hours with an assigned Faculty Mentor This research course provides a foundation for a new understanding of Pilgrimage

 

Portfolio Research II Course – 6 credit hours with an assigned Faculty Mentor This research course provides an understanding of a specific Pilgrimage location.


Portfolio Paper – 6 credit hours

with an assigned Faculty Mentor. This course produces a ministry Thesis documenting a new understanding of Pilgrimage. The Thesis will include a Pilgrimage Study Guide to be published on the Northwind Seminary Website.
