Bishop David M. Maldonado

Visiting Faculty

The Right Reverend David Moises Maldonado is the Presiding Bishop of Christ International Fellowship, an emergent ecclesial community in the United States and Latin America. He is widely recognized for his religious leadership and civic advocacy within Latino and African American communities.  He is a theologian (semiotician) rooted in the rhythms of the ancient church.

Bishop Maldonado is a third-generation Pentecostal pastor who began preaching within the Hispanic Christian community at age thirteen, licensed to preach in 1992, and ordained in 1996. He was ordained and consecrated into the episcopacy on March 26, 2008.

Bishop Maldonado is founder of Christ Institute of Theology and visiting faculty at Northwind Seminary. He also serves as a co-founder of Hablamos Español Florida and chairman of the Con Fe Council, an ecumenical faith-based organization driven by a social justice vision to expand language access to monolingual communities in Florida.

Bishop Maldonado is a graduate of the Convergence Study Program as well as a Masters of Arts in Religious Leadership and Administration at New York Theological Seminary. He has completed a  Doctorate of Theology from Evangelical Theological Seminary of Kairos University with a concentration in  pneumatic-semiotics and is currently a doctoral candidate .

He is father to four children and together with his wife, Tia, pastors Christ International Church in Orlando, Florida
