Contemplative Charismatic Theology
Study with Duane White
Duane White is an international teacher, author, and spiritual leader whose work centers on formation, discernment, and Spirit-shaped leadership. For nearly four decades, he has served pastors, churches, and leaders across diverse cultural and ecclesial contexts, helping them cultivate depth, attentiveness, and sustainable faithfulness in life and ministry.
Along with his wife, Kris, Duane has traveled in ministry to more than sixty-five nations, served as missionaries in the United Kingdom, and equipped leaders through training, mentoring, and mission initiatives. Together, they have resourced missionaries, supported micro-business development, and guided countless leaders through seasons of transition, calling, and renewal.
Born with a severe cleft lip and palate and told he would never speak without impediment, Duane’s life and vocation have been shaped by an early awareness of grace, perseverance, and calling. His teaching carries theological depth, prophetic insight, and pastoral warmth, marked by a commitment to listening, presence, and faithfulness rather than performance or spectacle.
Duane holds a Doctor of Theology and Ministry (DThM) in Semiotics and Spirit Hermeneutics, studying under the esteemed Dr. Leonard Sweet. He also earned a Master of Ministry in Christian Leadership and has spent his life integrating theology with lived practice.
In 2007, Duane and Kris founded The Bridge Church in Denton, Texas. After transitioning the church to new leadership in 2022, Duane now serves as bishop of the O2 Church Network, where he focuses on mentoring leaders and pastoring pastors. His work reflects a deep commitment to Spirit-formed life, faithful tradition, and discerning leadership in a dis-integrated world.

Contemplative Charismatic Theology & Practice
A Tradismatic approach to Spirit-formed life and leadership
Contemplative Charismatic Theology & Practice explores a way of life and leadership rooted in attentiveness to God’s presence and participation in the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit. Rather than separating contemplation and charisma into competing spiritual styles, this cohort holds them together as a single, integrated posture of faith.
The contemplative life invites stillness, listening, and abiding… a deep attentiveness to God who dwells within and among us. The charismatic life invites responsiveness, discernment, and participation… a willingness to join the Spirit’s movement through gifts, prayer, and embodied action. Together, they form a theology and practice shaped not by performance or withdrawal, but by presence.
This degree approaches formation through a tradismatic lens—honoring the faith once delivered to the saints while remaining open to the Spirit’s ongoing activity in the life of the Church. Scripture, tradition, prayer, and spiritual practice are engaged not merely as subjects of study, but as living realities meant to be inhabited, discerned, and embodied.
Students will explore how prayer, worship, discernment, and the gifts of the Spirit can be held within sustainable rhythms of life and leadership. Emphasis is placed on moving from striving to abiding, from spiritual intensity to spiritual depth, and from fragmented ministry practices to integrated, Spirit-formed leadership.
This cohort is especially suited for leaders who sense a call beyond reactionary faith or burnout-driven ministry… leaders seeking formation rather than formula, wisdom rather than volume, and faithfulness rather than spectacle.
The goal of this degree is not simply theological understanding, but transformation—forming leaders who can listen deeply, discern wisely, carry spiritual authority humbly, and lead from a life rooted in God’s presence.
