Rev. Steve C. Van Ostran, D.Min

Rev. Dr. Steve Van Ostran serves as Executive Minister of the American Baptist Churches of the Rocky Mountains. Prior to his call to the ABCRM, he served on the staff of the ABC of the Central Region for five years and came to regional work from 18 years of pastoral ministry. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Ottawa University teaching courses in New Testament, Speech, and Mass Communications.
Steve received his Doctor of Ministry Degree from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in June of 1994. His doctoral thesis was on sermon preparation in the pastoral sized congregation.
The program in which he studied was a cooperative program of the Association of Chicago Theological Schools and was taught by faculty from the six participating seminaries, as well as prominent guest instructors from around the nation.
He received his Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 1987.
